Host An IronBirds Player This Season

Without a nest, where would an IronBird stay?

Host Family 4

Have you ever wondered where minor leaguers stay during their short time in Aberdeen? Every summer, the Orioles' 40+ players and staff descend upon the House that Cal built, and need a nest to call home for 2.5 months! Do you have an extra bed, a basement with a sleeper sofa, or a cozy den where an IronBird might be able to fit?

Playing only 76 games, 38 at home, and not needing laundry, transportation, or meals to be provided for them, tomorrow's MLB stars really just need somewhere safe to sleep and keep their things. The reality is, these guys only make about $750 per month after taxes playing in the New York-Penn League, and they don't have the time, funds, or ability to seek out an apartment to stay in while chasing their dreams.

If you think your home is the perfect Host Nest, click HERE to download and complete a form which you can return to HostFamily@ironbirdsbaseball.com, or call Jack, our official Host Nest Coordinator, at 443-327-8061 to learn more!

What's Required?

We look for host families that are from Harford, Cecil, and Baltimore Counties, as well as southern Delaware and Pennsylvania.

All you need in order to be a host family is a safe place for our players to stay during home stands. Within your home, each player will need a private space to sleep and keep their things. Host Families are not required to feed their 'Bird or do their laundry, though some do, and it is always appreciated. IronBirds follow house rules and get along great with children. We do ask that you let us know if you have any pets, as sometimes IronBirds players can be allergic!
