Salem Red Sox to Play in 2010 Futures at Fenway02/10/2010 7:34 PM ET
Salem, VA (February 10, 2010) - The Salem Red Sox will participate in Boston's fifth annual Futures at Fenway presented by Comcast on Saturday, July 10. 2010 will be Salem's first year participating in the event which in its previous four years has hosted capacity crowds excited to see the Red Sox stars of tomorrow. Fans can expect family-friendly ticket and concession prices as well as kid-friendly activities throughout the day.
"We are very excited for our franchise to get the opportunity to play at 'America's most beloved ballpark,'" said Salem Red Sox general manager Todd Stephenson. "We are fortunate that the logistics were possible to make this tremendous opportunity a reality."
As part of a doubleheader, the Lowell Spinners, Boston's Single-A affiliate, will play the Jamestown Jammers (Single-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins) at 12:05 p.m. Salem will play Potomac Nationals (Advanced Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals) immediately following the conclusion of the Spinners' contest. The Carolina League matchup will be broadcast on the Salem Red Sox flagship station WFIR 960 by Salem Red Sox play-by-play announcer, Evan Lepler.
