Roster Changes Before Road Trip 04/23/2007 11:44 AM ETMLB.com
The Lynx have added pitcher Rick Bauer and catcher Dusty
Wathan to the roster today while the Phillies have released pitcher Jim
Crowell and sent outfielder Pedro Swann to their Double-A affiliate
in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Bauer, 30, spent parts of the
2003, 2004 and 2005 seasons with the Lynx. He was assigned to the Lynx this
morning by the Philadelphia Phillies. Bauer spent all of last season with
the Texas Rangers, earning a 3-1 record with a 3.55 ERA in 58 games, mostly out
of the bullpen. He has a record of 9-14 with a 3.67 ERA in 48 games over three
seasons in Ottawa. Wathan, 33, has been transferred from the Phillies' Double-A affiliate in Reading. He started the season on the Lynx roster, but did not appear in a game before being placed on the temporarily inactive list and then transferred to Reading. He appeared in one game with the Reading Phillies, going 2-for-5 with a run scored. This is his 14th professional season and he has played more than 900 professional games.
Crowell, 32, made two starts for
the Lynx this season, compiling a 15.19 ERA over 5.1 innings. He spent all of
last season with the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre,
going 2-3 with 2 saves in 40 appearances, including seven
starts. Swann, 36, got into three games
this season, going 3-for-9 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Swann also
played in Ottawa during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He was the Most Valuable
Player in 2003-the last time the Lynx made the
playoffs. The Lynx have today off as they
travel to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a series against the Yankees Tuesday through
Thursday. The Lynx swept a two-game series between the two clubs this past
weekend by a combined score of 21-7. The Lynx will be back in town Friday for an
eight-game homestand with games against Indianapolis and
Louisville. This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm.
