06/05/2009 12:09 PM ET
STOCKTON, Calif.--The Stockton Ports first game in a four-game series at Banner Island Ballpark against the High Desert Mavericks was suspended after 14 complete innings at a 5-5 tie due to a California League rule that stipulates that no inning can start after midnight.

The Ports will resume the game at 6:05 p.m. in the top of the fifteenth inning. All tickets from June 4 will be honored on Friday for the completion of the game or any other game during the season except July 3. The Ports will take on the Mavericks for game two of the series on Friday, which is also Girl Scout Night at the ballpark. Additionally, the first 1,000 fans to enter the gates on Friday will be given a glow-in-the-dark Ports light switch plate cover. Gates will open on Friday at 5:05 p.m.

The five-hour, one-minute contest saw the Mavericks tie up the game in the top of the ninth inning on a fielder's choice play by Joe Dunigan. For the Ports, Jemile Weeks hit a solo home run in his Banner Island Ballpark debut. Christian Vitters also homered in the game and had four RBI.
