SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Class AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce today P Jeremy Papelbon has been placed on the disabled list. In a related roster move, P Jake Muyco has been promoted from High-A Daytona.

Papelbon appeared in 13 games for Tennessee this year, compiling a 0-3 record with a 5.14 ERA. His move to the disabled list is due to a left shoulder strain, and is retroactive to Friday, May 15.

Muyco will be making his second appearance in a Smokies jersey, as he began the 2008 season with Tennessee as a catcher, hitting .191 (4-21) and scoring one run. In 13 games this year for the High-A Daytona Cubs, Muyco is 1-2 with a 4.35 ERA and two saves. He is an eighth round pick of the Chicago Cubs in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft.
