Infielder Ramon Santana Wins Twins Player of Month Award 05/07/2009 10:03 AM ETMiLB.com
Beloit Snappers infielder Ramon Santana has been named the Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Month of April. Santana compiled a team best batting average at .393 along with leading the team in slugging percentage at .643 and home runs with three, as well as totaling 10 walks in 16 games for the Snappers. Santana also led the team with an astounding on-base-percentage of .493, along with ranking in the top three on the team in five other major offensive categories. The Twins also named Santana their Minor League Player of the Week for the week of April 17th. Currently he is on the 7-day disabled list with an injured ankle he suffered during a game against Kane County. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
