ValleyCats Announce Second Bobblection 10/28/2009 11:03 AM ETTri-City ValleyCats
TROY, N.Y. - With Election Day approaching rapidly, the American public has many important choices in the coming days. In the spirit of democracy, the Tri-City ValleyCats, Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, are holding an election of their own for the second consecutive year - a bobblection. The ValleyCats Bobblehead Series has ventured into politics in the past. In 2006, the ValleyCats honored New York State Senator Joe Bruno with a ceramic doll in his likeness. Two years later, in 2008, the ValleyCats delved deeper into the political arena, creating the Tri-Cities Mayor Bobblehead Series - honoring the mayors of Albany, Schenectady and Troy. In 2009, the inaugural Bobblection was held and New York State Governor David Paterson was elected a ValleyCats bobblehead. Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, once stated "The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter." Citizens of the Capital Region, it is time to make your voice heard. The ValleyCats are asking you to help decide who or what will be the next honoree of a ValleyCats collectible bobblehead.
