Danny Brezeale's go-ahead homer lifted visiting Danville over Elizabethton, 4-3, and to its first Appalachian League crown.
With the score tied, 3-3, in the seventh inning in the nightcap of Sunday's Championship Series doubleheader, Brezeale led off with a blast to left-center field.
"It was a great series, a repeat of last year," Braves manager Paul Runge said. "We were able to win it on their field after they beat us on ours."
"We came up short the last two seasons, but the third time was the charm for us."
Danville scored all its runs via the long ball. Ernesto Mejia belted a two-run shot in the fifth to knot the score, 2-2. Larry Williams' solo blast in the sixth again drew the game even, 3-3.
"[Elizabethton starter Jose] Castillo kept us in check, before Mejia hit his two-run homer," Runge said. "After losing Game 2, we really hung in there. It was a mentally draining series, but all our guys had the time of their lives."
Brezeale, who Runge considers the Braves' most improved player, and Larry Williams had two hits apiece.
Danville starter Carlos Sencion allowed two runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three and didn't issue any walks. David Williams yielded one run in 1 2/3 innings, before Kristopher Medlen (1-0) struck out four over the final 1 1/3 innings.
Daniel Berg and Brian Dinkelman had solo homers in the second and fifth innings respectively for the Twins. Dinkelman, Danny Santiesteban and Josh Land had two hits each.
Castillo gave up two runs on three hits while striking out one and walking one in five innings, and Sean Land (0-1) surrendered two runs on three hits in the final two frames.
Danville won the opener and the finale for their first championship.
