Lugnuts unveil The Clubhouse04/01/2008 4:24 PM ET
LANSING -- Following more than six months of work, the Lansing Lugnuts are happy to announce that The Clubhouse is open for business. The Clubhouse is the newest venue at Oldsmobile Park, providing fans an opportunity to enjoy cocktails, camaraderie, and carvery during every Lugnuts home game.
"The Clubhouse was built to rival any bar or restaurant in Lansing," Lugnuts owner Tom Dickson said. "It's a place where big shots and the not-so-big-shots in Lansing want to meet, come to have a drink, dinner and watch a game."
After years of planning, The Clubhouse construction began this off-season as part of the conclusion of the two-year, $3 million renovation project to reinvest into Oldsmobile Park. Walls were knocked down to transform six suites into a luxurious suite level club overlooking the third base side of the stadium. Fans will be able to dine in style while watching the Lugnuts action. The Clubhouse offers a full wine, beer and cocktail list along with a delicious menu of gourmet sandwiches, sides and dessert options.
"We spent days in our food supplier's kitchen meeting with their executive chefs," Dickson said. "We sampled dozens of recipes to create the perfect menu."
The Clubhouse features a full wait staff and a chef on hand every game at a carving station offering delectable, hand-carved prime rib, turkey breast or pork loin sandwiches on French baguettes. Side dishes include fresh salads, fruits and vegetables, and for your sweet tooth there's chocolate cake, cheesecake and more for dessert.
The Clubhouse may be the newest venue to the ballpark, but it offers the first opportunity in the Lugnuts 13-year history for a fan to buy an individual ticket up to suite level. Previously, only groups, sponsors or corporations could rent or purchase suites for Lugnuts games. Now, Clubhouse tickets are available to all fans! You can watch the game from inside seating or outdoors on the balcony. The Clubhouse will still be open every game for all suite patrons to enjoy as a benefit of their suite purchase, to come down and grab a drink, get a sandwich, or just hang out for an inning. The Clubhouse will also stay open until midnight after all Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening home games.
"Quite simply, The Clubhouse is an upscale way to catch a Lugnuts game for a great price," Lugnuts owner Tom Dickson said. "We wanted to add a feature to Oldsmobile Park that allows the average fan to see the game while enjoying luxuries typically reserved for those in luxury suites."
Availability is limited, but fans can purchase tickets inside of seven days in advance of the game date. Tickets are available online, over the phone or at the Lugnuts box office. Also, as a special Diamond Club benefit, full season and 35-game season ticket holders can upgrade their tickets to The Clubhouse before tickets become available to the public for any game during the season.
