Nashville Sounds' manager Steve Scarsone has been voted the 2016 PCL Manager of the Year. Scarsone becomes the second Sounds manager to be honored as the league's top skipper (Frank Kremblas, 2007) after guiding Nashville to the American Southern Division Championship and a PCL-best 83-57 record.
El Paso Chihuahuas' Hunter Renfroe has been voted the 80th MVP in PCL history. Renfroe secured two-thirds of the votes from the league's field managers and media representatives to become the fourth Padres' farmhand to win the award - and first since Sandy Alomar, Jr. in 1989 with the Las Vegas Stars. Reno's Kyle Jensen, the PCL home run and RBI leader, finished runner-up to Renfroe.
Fresno Grizzlies' right-hander Brady Rodgers' breakthrough season has culminated with him being voted the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year, the league office announced Wednesday. He becomes the first Fresno pitcher to win this award in the 13 years since it was created.
