The Washington Nationals and Auburn Doubledays have announced that the teams have extended their Player Development Contract for an additional two years. Auburn will remain part of the Washington system through the 2018 season.
Doubledays General Manager Mike Voutsinas has been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Robert Stedler New York-Penn League Executive of the Year Award. Voutsinas was also named the co-winner of the league's Hon. Robert F. Julian Community & Baseball Service Award.
THANK YOU FANS!!! The Doubledays have announced that a total of 52,811 fans attended 37 home games at Falcon Park this season, an average of 1,427 per game. Average attendance is up 23% since 2013. This season also marks the third straight year of attendance growth for the Doubledays, a feat matched by only one other NYPL club.
The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce recently presented its 2016 Small Business of the Year Award to the Auburn Doubledays Baseball Club during a ceremony at the Chamber's Annual Membership BBQ event held at Knapp Vineyard Winery and Restaurant.
Minor League Baseball has announced that the average cost for a family of four to enjoy a Minor League Baseball game this season is only $64.97; a price that includes parking, two adult tickets, two child tickets, four hot dogs, two sodas and two beers. The cost to buy those same items at a Doubledays home game is only $50.00, 23% lower than the Minor League average.
