After Tommy John surgery as a high school senior in 2014 and two years of rehab, former Emerald and top Cubs pitching prospect prepares for his first full-season assignment. He had a 2.22 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 44‰ innings at short-season Class A Eugene last season.
Former Emerald and the Cubs number 2 prospect, Ian Happ, has been on a roll as he is making the switch from the outfield to the infield at second base. After Happ was selected in the first round of the 2015 Draft, he was assigned to short-season Eugene, and then promoted to Class A South Bend.
The Eugene Emeralds are thrilled to announce they are partnering with Wildish to bring back Sluggo's Home Run Reading Program. This program is designed to motivate students to become better readers, and allows them the opportunity to earn tickets to watch the 2016 Northwest League Champion Eugene Emeralds this summer.
