Comments
Fastball:Blair throws his fastball in the 88-92 mph range.
Slider:He doesn't throw it consistently, but when he's on top of it has nice lateness to it and has the chance to be an average pitch down the road. Now, it's slurvy at times.
Control:Blair throws a decent amount of strikes and has average overall command.
Poise:Blair has good mound presence, is pretty composed on the mound and has a good feel for attacking hitters.
Physical Description:Blair has good size, with a clean and wiry body, a kind of prototype for projectable high school right-handers.
Medical Update:Healthy.
Strengths:The projectable body that leads to projection of more miles per hour on the fastball.
Weaknesses:There's projection on the breaking ball, but some scouts would like to see more consistency now.
Summary:Blair is a projectable high school right-hander with good size and a good, but not great, arm. He's got an average fastball with average commmand, but there's room for growth in his frame, which could lead to more ticks on the fastball. His slider has the chance to be a decent offering, but is very inconsistent right now. There are plenty of teams who like projection from their high schoolers and Blair fits that mold.
