Fastball:Cole was throwing 93 mph in the first inning, but couldn't maintain it or throw it for strikes consistently.
Changeup:Cole's changeup is below average.
Slider:His slider is also a below-average offering.
Control:Cole had trouble throwing consistent strikes.
Poise:A converted infielder, Cole is very new to pitching and still learning to develop a mound presence.
Physical Description:While Cole falls under the "undersized righty" umbrella, he's very athletic and strong for his size.
Medical Update:Healthy.
Strengths:Cole's got tremendous arm strength, which could lead to an above-average fastball once he learns how to pitch more.
Weaknesses:Other than arm strength and the potential for a good fastball, his other offerings are well below average.
Summary:A converted shortstop who is pitching for the first time, Cole is a project with tremendous arm strength. He's a little undersized, but has deceptive strength and is a terrific athlete. His family wants him to go on his Mormon mission and he's signed to go to BYU, but he could be intriguing for a team that likes to mold young throwers into pitchers.
