| Hitting Ability: | On one day, Jackson struggled, not hitting a ball out of the infield. He showed a swing that was long and loopy at times. Against Sam Runion and Reynolds, with the scouts pouring in, Jackson looked more like the top-flight prep prospect, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. |
| Power: | Jackson has good bat speed. He may never hit for big-time power, but there is some room to get stronger and could be a 15-20 homer guy down the line. |
| Running Speed: | He's run good 60 times in the past, but his times from home to first have been average on the whole. He's a slow starter, but a fast finisher. |
| Base Running: | Without a quick start, Jackson doesn't profile as a great base-stealer. But he runs well underway and can go first-to-third well. |
| Arm Strength: | His best tool. Jackson dabbles with pitching in relief and was clocked at 93 mph. |
| Arm Accuracy: | With plus arm strength, Jackson makes on-line throws to first consistently.. |
| Fielding: | Jackson has a good reputation as a defender, but on his "off-night," it was questioned whether he'd stay at short. |
| Range: | Because of that lack of quick first step, his range isn't what some expected. |
| Physical Description: | Jackson isn't a real physical player and will have to get stronger for his offensive potential to be reached.. |
| Medical Update: | Healthy. |
| Strengths: | Arm strength and bat speed. |
| Weaknesses: | A lack of a quick first step and a swing that can get long. |
| Summary: | Jackson has been on the radar screen for a long time, with scouts seeing him many times over the years as they came to TC Roberson High School to see Cameron Maybin. It's possible that off-night was just that, a one-game bad performance. Since, he's been hitting at a pretty good clip and will undoubtedly continue to draw scouts. |
