Fastball:Ranaudo throws his fastball in the 87-92 mph range. His comfort zone grades out as an average pitch.
Fastball movement:Ranaudo does not have much life or movement on his fastball.
Curve:Right now, Ranaudo throws a below-average curve, but it projects to be an average offering. He throws it now in the 72-75 mph range.
Changeup:Ranaudo does throw a changeup at 77-79 mph, but it's in its infancy stages and he doesn't throw it that much.
Control:His command is currently below-average.
Poise:He's got average aggressiveness on the mound, but is fairly agile and has good aptitude.
Physical Description:Ranaudo is a big right-hander who has a Jason Hirsh-like body type.
Medical Update:Healthy.
Strengths:Arm strength and big body along with all the projections that come along with it.
Weaknesses:He's really only got one pitch right now and two that might eventually become Major League average. His delivery can get mechanical at times.
Summary:Ranaudo hasn't pitched all that much and it shows. He's got a big body that has many scouts dreaming of projection, but there's not as much "now" to him past his fastball. His secondary pitches have a chance but are below-average currently. Someone will take a chance on him and hope they can harness the potential in a very large frame and help him meet those projections.
