School:Horizon HS, Scottsdale, Az.
School Type:High School

Focus Area
Fastball:Rhoderick can throw his fastball in the 90-94 mph range, albeit with some effort. He'll probably sit more comfortably at 90-91 mph and should grade as an average pitch in the future.
FB Movement:He is able to sink his fastball.
Slider:His out pitch, Rhoderick's slider is his bread and butter.
Changeup:Rhoderick is not as consistent with the changeup, but it has the chance to be a plus pitch in the future.
Control:Rhoderick has excellent command of the fastball and slider, but doesn't command the changeup as well.
Poise:Rhoderick has outstanding mound presence and has stepped up against some ranked teams on a high-profile high school schedule.
Physical Description:Rhoderick is a medium-frame guy who fits the "undersized right-handed pitcher" mold.
Medical Update:Healthy.
Strengths:Three good-to-plus pitches, good command, excellent mound presence.
Weaknesses:His smaller stature might have some concerned about durability. There is also some effort in his delivery.
Summary:Much of the attention at Horizon High School goes to teammate Tim Alderson, but Rhoderick is a prospect in his own right. While his size may deter some, he's got the chance to have a good three-pitch mix that would work as a starting pitcher at the next level.
