Phinley, the Clearwater Threshers' fuzzy, if not fierce, shark mascot, circled the waters and made chum of the competition, defeating 13 other League champions to capture the title of the best mascot in Minor League Baseball for the 2014 season.

Height: 6'6"Weight: 200 lbsFriends: Chico counts among his best friends all the loyal Chihuahuas fans he has met this season, he is eager to go to his first All-Star Game this year so he can meet a bunch of new mascot friends!Likes: Chico loves many things, but nothing makes him happier than a good scratch behind the ear.Dislikes: Bears, playing cards, cats that hang by rivers, hiking mountains, UFOs and salty honey.Bio: In 2014, the City of El Paso was blessed with their new friend, Chico, when the El Paso Chihuahuas took him in when he showed up at Southwest University on April 14th. We don't know too much about his background but his scars and cuts in his ears tell us that he is a scrapper who is fiercely loyal. Chico is a little mischievous and loves to pull pranks, however he is very loveable and extremely proud of his new home and family. Those who have met Chico have fallen in love with him and have made him the most popular dog in the Southwest.

The aquatic creature who lived in the adjacent bay decided to investigate the construction site and immediately fell in love with Pensacola's multi-use stadium and baseball. Since the team did not have a mascot yet and loved his enthusiasm, Kazoo was named the Blue Wahoos' mascot and was given the number "00". Kazoo is an aquatic creature with webbed feet, fins for ears and always sports his stylish Blue Wahoos cap. When he's not banging on his drum, sliding down railings or scarfing down shrimp po-boys, he can be seen all around the stadium interacting with fans, taking pictures and cheering on his favorite team.Related Items:

His grandfather grew up on the telephone poles of Brooklyn in the 1950s in a small nest on Flatbush Ave. next door to Ebbets Field. Every weekend, he would fly to Coney Island to hang out on the beach and ride the Cyclone. Grandpa Seagull was sad when the Dodgers left Brooklyn, but he kept their memory alive by telling stories to his grandson, Sandy, who loved baseball even more than he did! Sandy and his grandpa were so thrilled when the Cyclones brought baseball back to Brooklyn that Sandy set up a nest on top of the Parachute Jump so he could watch all the action. One day, while the ballpark was being built, Sandy fell out of the nest. The construction workers nursed him back to health and let him hang around and be their mascot. When the ballpark was ready, Sandy was the obvious choice to become the Cyclones mascot.

Was honored with his own bobblehead night in 2006. Had his picture taken with David Price as part of a prior Tampa Bay Rays Fanfest. Was body-slammed on field by Jerry Lawler during a game. Concession stand at Hunnicutt Field is named "Roscoe's Grille in his honor. His image adorns a 14ft x 14ft outfield wall sign at the stadium. He also can talk to fans in costume.

The Mustangs are a perfect fit for me -- they let me dance on the dugout, play kickball before games and play with squirt guns! I'm probably one of the few horses who is not afraid of guns. No more grass for me -- now I graze on Dehler Park Stang Burgers!"

While he's usually goofing around with fans and his cousin, Chip, or causing general chaos with the Wing Race Characters, Buster is no doubt keeping an eye on the score to be the first to cheer for another Bisons win!

Homer loves his new home in Charlotte at BB&T Ballpark even though nobody told him the team was moving. Homer loves dancing to James Brown on top of dugouts and getting stuck in chairs. He had heard stories of the Columbus Clippers, whose mascot, Captain Clipper, was planning for retirement. Lou Seal left Alaska and headed across the United States until he hit the mighty Scioto River in Downtown Columbus, where he met Captain Clipper. Once Captain Clipper learned of Lou Seal's love of baseball, he selected Lou Seal as his successor and put him through a rigorous training program to prepare him for his rookie season as a mascot. The rest, as they say, is history.

When he is not entertaining the masses at Victory Field, he can be seen all around town making appearances at schools, charitable events, and corporate functions. He has many claims to fame in his 21 year tenure with the Indianapolis Indians. He is accredited for putting the bear in "bear hug", inspiring the song "Bear Necessities", and modeling for the first gummy bear mold. Recently, he was voted Funniest Mascot by Vanity Bear and Bear of the Year by National Geographic. His idols include Roberto Clemente, Yogi the Bear, and Bear Grylls.

Hambone races during every home game and typically finishes in last place. Hambone is yet to collect a win in 2013, due to his clumsiness and the antics of the other racers, particularly Diggity. This lefty is a round hunk of honey-roasted ham and a crowd favorite at Coca-Cola Park.

He was born in the largest cave in the world, Mammoth Cave, in Park City, KY. He later flew up I-65 and landed in Louisville, where he became the official mascot of the Bats. He has been known to partake in dangerous shenanigans such as skydiving and rappelling from tall buildings. He is the self-proclaimed Hand Walking Champion of the Ohio Valley.

Besides cheering along with PawSox fans at PawSox home games and collecting baseball cards in his spare time, Paws' favorite activities include visiting schools, malls, and other special events around southern New England, as well as throwing soft baseballs into the crowd to adoring fans during PawSox home games. His favorite vacation spot is Fort Myers, Fla., the Spring Training home of the Boston Red Sox. He wears a PawSox hat and jersey with the number 99.

Hatched in Cooperstown, a young Spikes flew west and settled in Rochester in 1997, the first season at Frontier Field. His athletic prowess and dance moves have dazzled fans for years, and while intimidating to opponents, his warm personality has endeared him to Wings fans of all ages. Along with his feathered partner, Mittsy, Spikes is active in the local youth baseball scene, flies regularly to charity events and is a pillar of the Rochester community.

CHAMP loves to watch the RailRiders win at PNC Field, but when the team is away you can find him out and about in Northeastern Pennsylvania making appearances at all sorts of community events! CHAMP sports the number 13, the 1st year of the RailRiders!

He is a goofy, attention seeking, unpredictable flirt, but he always finds his way back to the nest to his main chick, Muddonna. It's obvious anywhere you go around Toledo: the "bird is the word" 365 days a year!

Whether he's at Isotopes Park or out and about in the community, his friendly nature and mischievous antics make him very popular throughout the state of New Mexico.

One day the Sky Sox GM noticed Sox the Fox leading the crowd in cheers and knew he had the perfect job for him! Ever since, Sox has been the No. 1 mascot in the hearts of all baseball fans!

The job isn't easy, especially on hot and steamy summer days, but Cubbie Bear loves it. He is the best mascot in MiLB!

Height: 7'0"Weight: 400 lbs.Friends: Hey Reb, The DukeRival(s): Archie (Reno Aces)Likes: Hot dogs, Cracker Jacks, popcornBio: Cosmo, a fan favorite of all ages, is in his 13th season with the 51s. Cosmo continues to amaze and amuse fans with his antics. He is a survivor of a spaceship crash at "Area 51" near the town of Rachel, Nev. Cosmo was a baseball phenom on his planet, Koufaxia, and was thrilled to find baseball on Earth. When Cosmo is not at the ballpark, he likes to visit schools, Little League games, birthday parties and other events where children are present.

The aquatic creature who lived in the adjacent bay decided to investigate the construction site and immediately fell in love with Pensacola's multi-use stadium and baseball. Since the team did not have a mascot yet and loved his enthusiasm, Kazoo was named the Blue Wahoos' mascot and was given the number "00". Kazoo is an aquatic creature with webbed feet, fins for ears and always sports his stylish Blue Wahoos cap. When he's not banging on his drum, sliding down railings or scarfing down shrimp po-boys, he can be seen all around the stadium interacting with fans, taking pictures and cheering on his favorite team.

Otey is a native to the state hailing from Southeast Arkansas. He grew up watching Travs games with his family from underneath the stands at Little Rock's Ray Winder Field. Otey, who was named after former Traveler infielder and groundskeeper R.C. Otey, claims that he is the Travelers' "Good Luck Charm". In fact Otey believes that his superstitions helped the Travs win the 2008 Texas League Championship even though their 62-78 regular season record was the worst for a champion in Texas League history. Otey stands a stout 5 feet tall, he is a fan of second base and the "phantom double play" and his favorite number is .984, which was R.C. Otey's career fielding percentage.

His favorite day of the year is Opening Day, and he gears up for the BlueClaws opener with appearances at dozens of Little League openings each April. He enjoys long walks on the beach and BlueClaws wins, and is still looking for his first victory in the nightly Buster Race.

After standout high school and college careers here in Lexington, the Houston Colt .45s drafted him. His dreams were finally realized one day when he got the call; he was going up to Houston to play in his first Major League game. Now, with his playing days over, Big L has decided to return to Lexington as the original Lexington Legend.

Last year his Savannah Sand Gnats won the South Atlantic League Championship title which helped take the bite out of finishing third overall in the 2013 Mascot Mania competition. This year Gnate hopes to bring home the mascot crown in hopes to prove that bugs are capable of being loved.

A fitness fanatic, you'll often find Ripcord running around the entire Ripken Experience complex in Aberdeen. He attends the Cal Ripken World Series every August to cheer on the best in youth baseball and scout for future IronBirds talent! With his massive wingspan, Ripcord gives the fans what they want: free t-shirts thrown at high speeds and happy hugs after every big win.

Legend has it that Abner Doubleday invented the game of baseball in 1839 as a cadet at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. Although the claim has been debated for decades among baseball historians and fans, the popular myth remains. Doubleday is recognized at the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum in Cooperstown, NY, where it's said the first game was played. The historic baseball field at West Point is also named in Doubleday's honor.

His grandfather grew up on the telephone poles of Brooklyn in the 1950s in a small nest on Flatbush Ave. next door to Ebbets Field. Every weekend, he would fly to Coney Island to hang out on the beach and ride the Cyclone. Grandpa Seagull was sad when the Dodgers left Brooklyn, but he kept their memory alive by telling stories to his grandson, Sandy, who loved baseball even more than he did! Sandy and his grandpa were so thrilled when the Cyclones brought baseball back to Brooklyn that Sandy set up a nest on top of the Parachute Jump so he could watch all the action. One day, while the ballpark was being built, Sandy fell out of the nest. The construction workers nursed him back to health and let him hang around and be their mascot. When the ballpark was ready, Sandy was the obvious choice to become the Cyclones mascot.

The smiles on kids' faces as Bubba approaches them at the stadium is evidence enough to show that Bubba is a wonderful friend that all Jammer fans can relate to. Opponents cringe with fear from seeing Bubba Grape, while fans laugh and celebrate the game alongside him. There is no doubt that Bubba Grape is the best mascot in MiLB.

After just a few days in the canals, he crawled up the banks and over to LeLacheur Park where he has been ever since. During the fall and winter months, he stays in Lowell, with his wife, Allie, and daughter, Millie, promoting education and continued reading practice through the summer. His favorite things to do are hanging out with his friends in the Canaligator Kids Club and having fun in the community. He recently gotten a makeover and has a brand new look to show off to friends and fans this summer!

In 1999 Scrappy ran into a group of baseball players on their way to Eastwood Field and has stayed there to support them ever since. He can often be seen on top of a dugout cheering for his team or at outside events supporting the community. Scrappy is currently the only mascot in Minor League Baseball to wear a chain.

Ike the Spike was the Cinderella story of the first-ever Mascot Mania, being the only short-season mascot to advance all the way to the championship by defeating foes on every level. Ike the Spike had an entire community backing him, which most notably lead to the State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham proclaiming June 7 as "Ike the Spike" day. Performing more than 250 mascot appearances in 2011, Ike strives on being the MiLB's busiest mascot. After making it all the way to the finals of Mascot Mania in 2012, Ike has guaranteed the crown for 2013. As you cast your vote, remember the famous phrase, "I Like Ike"!

Named for famous Yankees shortstop Phil Rizzuto, Scooter was raised on the farmlands of Staten Island. Even as a calf, Scooter knew he was destined for baseball greatness. He learned to bat and field the ball, but above all else Scooter loved to entertain. Nobody matches Scooter as he dances, plays and competes in between-inning entertainment for the Staten Island Yankees. Scooter loves playing with his brother Red and hanging out with all of his fans. Above all else he loves cheering on the Staten Island Yankees."

When he's not hexing the opposing team or cruising around the ballpark on his bright yellow 4-wheeler, Champ can be found exploring his home, Lake Champlain. But this Lake Monster is anything but shy and loves showing off his crazy dance moves while he gets the crowd pumped up. You might even catch a glimpse of him playing a prank on the opposing team! It's no secret that this big green cheering machine is bad to the bone!

He's more than eager to join Hawks players at local libraries, the hospital, schools, community events ... anywhere fans of all ages can be found!

After finding an abandoned pair of binoculars one day, Sluggo became intrigued by something happening in the city sprawled below him: baseball. But not just any baseball, Emeralds Baseball. Sluggo loved to sit up on the butte and watch the Emeralds stomp their competition, hitting home runs over the fence and making sliding catches in the outfield. In 2010 Sluggo was invited to be the official mascot of the Emeralds and has been at the helm ever since.

I began roaming the countryside searching for a new place to call home. I eventually came across the newly built Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Ore. I immediately made friends with all the players and fans. I knew this would be my new home, and I have been here ever since."

Otto, the world's first Spokanasaurus, joined the Indians in 1993 and has quickly become one of the most famous mascots in all of Minor League Baseball. Otto enjoys break dancing on top of the dugout while making sure all fans enjoy their stay at Avista Stadium.

He simply could not leave beautiful Boyce Cox Field when the Pirates came to town. Dingbat decided to change out his uniform and serve as the Bristol Pirates mascot! Dingbat can be found not only at the ballpark on game nights, but also in the Bristol community, at area parades and other events. He is loved by all kids and very popular with adults. He may struggle with hitting a curve ball, but smiling fans are the only type of home run he needs.

He enrolled in Orbit's Intergalactic School for Space Children in the spring semester of 2012 and never looked back. Excelling in mascot races and other ballpark activities, Gizmo couldn't wait to hitch a ride to Greeneville with Orbit as he returned to Earth after the Thanksgiving holiday. Gizmo has quickly become a crowd and community favorite and can always be found cheering on the Astros from the stands or dugout tops, he's even known to break out in dance every once in a while! With a family history of fan entertainment, Gizmo hit the ground running and has fallen in love with entertaining the fans in Greeneville!

Concession stand at Hunnicutt Field is named "Roscoe's Grille in his honor. His image adorns a 14ft x 14ft outfield wall sign at the stadium. He also can talk to fans in costume.

One day, he found his way to Historic Calfee Park and sprinted out onto the field during the game, running circles around players and coaches. The crowd cheered so wildly that the owner decided to give him a job. Priding himself as the sneakiest mascot in the Appalachian League, Slyder has become a staple of entertainment in Pulaski and in the heart of his fans.

I dance, I play, I'm huggable, and fans love me! I come from one of the greatest places on earth, South Central Montana and Inferno Canyon in the Pryor Mountains. The Mustangs are a perfect fit for me -- they let me dance on the dugout, play kickball before games and play with squirt guns! I'm probably one of the few horses who is not afraid of guns. No more grass for me -- now I graze on Dehler Park Stang Burgers!"

Suddenly, he saw a mysterious UFO racing around Great Falls! To this day, Orbit claims that Great Falls was too beautiful to pass up, so he decided to stay and call it his new home. The Voyagers graciously offered him a position with the team, which he accepted without hesitation. He now roams the stadium spreading his love for baseball, which he learned on his home planet.

We then met the Helena Brewers, who allowed us to truly embrace what it means to be a Montanan. During the games we can be seen flinging fish into the air, dancing with the fans and cheering on the Brewers!'

He is the most interesting bird in the world.

Some of Ollie's favorite things are making noise with bells and tambourines, giving hugs to everyone and racing children around the bases. Ollie is easily distracted and has yet to win a race, but will keep on trying. Also, Ollie is the only mascot to have a live "brother" living in its natural habitat at the ballpark -- that's right Ogren Park Allegiance Field features live osprey that have nested on a pole just beyond the center-field fence. Unlike Ollie, these Osprey fly in for the baseball season and leave for the winter.

His egg was unearthed when construction crews were excavating the grounds of Lindquist Field. While the team is in town, Oggie comes out from his nest whenever he senses prey invading his home territory. The prey always wears grey baseball uniforms, and he maintains that Orem Owlz taste the best. Oggie can be seen stalking his prey and readying ambushes all throughout his home. Sometimes, he finds a straggling kid to eat, which is a well-deserved treat. Oggie loves children -- they taste just like chicken.
