The 19th overall pick by Philadelphia in 2007, Savery posted a 2.73 ERA for Williamsport in his pro debut after earning All-American honors three times as the premier two-way player in the nation at Rice. The 22-year-old southpaw then posted a 0.64 ERA for the Peoria Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League while keeping his first player journal for MLB.com.


The former Florida Gators star burst onto the scene in his pro debut in 2007 after being taken seventh overall by the Milwaukee Brewers. He hit 12 homers in just 115 at-bats (30 games) to lead the Minors in HR/AB ratio, then went on to lead the Arizona Fall League with six more roundtrippers in just 30 games. He also finished second in the AFL in RBIs and total bases.

The University of Arizona product received Eastern League top honors in 2007 after leading the circuit in hitting (.333) while adding 11 homers and 76 RBIs. His 2007 season ended in June, when he broke his hand while making a diving catch, but he returned to action after the regular season and was named to the Arizona Fall League All-Prospect Team.


Doolittle was Oakland's second draft pick in 2007 (41st overall) after a stellar career as a two-way standout at the University of Virginia. The slick-fielding first baseman split his rookie campaign between Vancouver, in the Northwest League, and Kane County, in the Midwest League. He hit a combined .243 with four homers and 33 RBIs in 68 games.
