Michael leads all marketing and sales efforts of Minor League Baseball. In this role, he is tasked with oversight of the MiLB Project Brand initiative, which is designed to enhance franchise values and create significant integrated sponsorship platforms by unleashing the combined power of all 160 clubs. Project Brand efforts are focused on delivering the MiLB brand to consumers and advertisers in a more efficient, emotional and impactful way. Hand has direct oversight of a variety of key business areas as part of this effort, including public relations, brand development and partner services.
Michael joined MiLB after spending four years at IMG Worldwide in New York City, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Strategy for the IMG College division. He directed development of new business proposals for national, regional and local clients across more than 70 collegiate properties through customized brand activation platforms.
Michael has been recognized by the In-Store Marketing Institute as a "Person to Watch" for his role in retail brand-building and his teams have won multiple Reggie, Clio and PRO Awards for successful marketing campaigns. Hand worked for BMW of North America, General Motors, the Miller Brewing Company and The Hershey Company, prior to joining IMG.
Hand, who joined the staff in April 2013, is a native of New Jersey and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Colgate University.
