Statistically speaking: His 179 hits not only led the Southern League, but all Double-A hitters, while his .328 average put him sixth on the Double-A list (third in the SL). His 34 stolen bases were tied for second in the league and seventh in Double-A.

Scouting report: His bat has come a long way and now profiles as a good top-of-the-order threat, maybe a No. 2 hitter. He doesn't have much much power, but he showed more overall hitting ability in 2008. His above-average speed should allow him to steal bases in future. His defense is a big plus: he is perhaps the best defensive shortstop in the Minors, with plus range, great hands and an outstanding arm.

Upside potential: Once considered a defensive specialist, he now looks more like an all-around, everyday shortstop that will make highlight reels on defense and hit for average with plenty of stolen bases on offense.

They said it: "He'll make at least one 'WOW' play a game, count on it." -- Reid Nichols, Brewers special assistant to the GM/director of player development

He said it: "I skipped class all the time to go to the baseball field. I always got in trouble. My parents said I needed to go to school, but all I wanted to do was play baseball. It's in my blood." -- Huntsville Times
