Playoff Procedures

Gulf Coast League playoff procedures

Playoff format

  • First Round — One Game
    • The team with the best winning percentage in the league hosts the wild card team (the team with the best overall winning percentage among those teams who were not division winners),
      • so long as those two teams are not in the same division; or
      • if the wild card team is from the same division as the team with the best overall winning percentage in the league, then the team with the best overall winning percentage would play the one of the other two division champions that has the lower winning percentage.
    • The other two division winners (or division winner hosts wild card).
  • Finals — Best of Three
    • Games One and Three at higher seeded team
    • Game Two at lower seeded team
