Gulf Coast League playoff procedures
Playoff format
- First Round One Game
- The team with the best winning percentage in the league hosts the wild card team (the team with the best overall winning percentage among those teams who were not division winners),
- so long as those two teams are not in the same division; or
- if the wild card team is from the same division as the team with the best overall winning percentage in the league, then the team with the best overall winning percentage would play the one of the other two division champions that has the lower winning percentage.
- The other two division winners (or division winner hosts wild card).
- The team with the best winning percentage in the league hosts the wild card team (the team with the best overall winning percentage among those teams who were not division winners),
- Finals Best of Three
- Games One and Three at higher seeded team
- Game Two at lower seeded team
Playoff Tiebreakers
- Note that winning percentage determines the overall winner, division winners and wild card.
- Note that when referenced, averages will be measured to the 1/100th of a decimal point (i.e. 4.25).
- To determine the best overall winning percentage, if a tie breaker is required (no game would be played):
- Tie involving two teams from different divisions:
- Average runs allowed per game
- Average runs scored per game
- Best run differential
- Tie involving two teams from the same division:
- Best record in head-to-head meetings
- Average runs allowed per game
- Winner of final meeting of the season between the two clubs
- Tie involving more than two teams from the same/different divisions:
- Average runs allowed per game
- Average runs scored per game
- Best run differential
- Tie involving two teams from different divisions:
- To determine a division winner, if a tie breaker is required and the loser would not qualify for the playoffs as the wild card, the two teams will meet in a one-game, sudden-death playoff to determine the division winner. A coin toss will decide the home team.
- To determine a division winner, if a tie breaker is required and the loser would qualify for the playoffs as the wild card (no game would be played):
- Tie involving two teams:
- Best record in head-to-head meetings
- Average runs allowed per game
- Winner of final meeting of the season between the two clubs

- Best run differential
- Tie involving two teams:
