Four Cougars Selected for Midwest League All-Star Game

Zach Nehrir Penned As Starter for Game On June 21 In Cedar Rapids

GENEVA, Ill. - The Midwest League has announced the rosters for the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, June 21 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 7:05 p.m. Four Cougars players have been selected to represent the Western Division: outfielder Zach Nehrir, infielder Trevor Mitsui and pitchers Justin Donatella and Cameron Gann. Nehrir was selected as a starting outfielder for the Western Division.

Donatella and Gann have been recognized for their first half excellence as both have helped the Cougars to a team ERA of 2.97, second best overall in the Midwest League. Donatella is third among Midwest League starters in wins with a current record of 5-3 and a 2.47 ERA after not allowing a run in his first 13 innings pitched this season. Gann's nine saves thus far put him second overall in the league with an ERA of 1.57 in 23.0 innings pitched out of the bullpen.

Nehrir has been perfect on defense for the Cougars while at the plate he is batting .260 with 17 RBI. Mitsui, who will serve as the designated hitter for the Western Division, is third in the league with 36 RBI and a .286 batting average.
