Bisons earn split with 2-1 win

The Buffalo Bisons scored a run in the top of the ninth inning and edged the PawSox on Friday night, 2-1. Dylan Owen picked up the win with three and a third innings of scoreless relief. Owen (1-0) limited Pawtucket to just two hits. Former PawSox All Star Fernando Cabrera earned the save for Buffalo with a shutout ninth inning. Brandon Duckworth pitched well for the PawSox, but didn't figure in the decision. Duckworth allowed one ruin in six and two third innings. Tony Pena was tagged with the loss, surrendering a run on a single by Omar Quintanilla.

The PawSox scored their only run in the first inning. Lars Anderson doubled and scored on a base hit by Ryan Lavarnway. For the second straight game the Sox stranded 11 base runners. They left the bases loaded twice. Anderson and Will Middlebrooks had two hits each.

The PawSox and Lehigh Valley will square off in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at McCoy Stadium. Game one begins at 4:05 p.m. Aaron Cook gets the game one start and Alex Wilson will start the night cap.
