Yucatan evens Mexican League Finals
Castillo plates four, Arellano holds fort in win over Monterrey
Salvador Arellano went six solid innings as Yucatan evened the Mexican League Finals at a game apiece.


Jesus Castillo drove in four runs as Yucatan withstood host Monterrey, 12-8, on Wednesday to even the Mexican League Championship Series, 1-1.

Castillo roped an RBI single in the fifth inning and cleared the bases with a three-run double in the sixth on a 3-for-5 night.

Luis Borges put the Leones on the board with a two-run single in the third and added a run-scoring single in the fourth.

Hector Castaneda went 2-for-2 and plated two runs, Raul Sanchez added two hits and an RBI single in the sixth and Willie Romero scored three times.

Salvador Arellano (3-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on two hits over six innings. He struck out four and walked five.

Dionys Cesar, Heber Gomez and Mendy Lopez all notched two RBIs apiece and Edgar Quintero went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the fourth for the Sultanes.

Walter Silva (2-1) was hit up for six runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out one and walked two.

Yucatan will host Game 3 of the best-of-7 series at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
