Des Moines, IA - The Chicago Cubs have made a series of changes to the Iowa Cubs roster, headlined by a pair of Major League lefties coming to Des Moines.

The Cubs optioned left-hander Rich Hill on Saturday. He has been activated to the I-Cubs roster today and will start tonight against the Tacoma Rainiers at Principal Park. Hill made five starts in Chicago this season and was 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA, but walked 18 batters in 19.2 innings.

Lefty Scott Eyre will make his third stop on his rehab assignment after going on the disabled list during spring training. Eyre started his tour with three appearances in high-A Daytona and has made three appearances with Double-A Tennessee before joining the I-Cubs. He has allowed four runs in 5.2 innings in his minor league tour.

The Cubs have also activated second baseman Eric Patterson from the disabled list. He's been out since April 24th with a sore right hamstring.

To make room for Patterson, the Cubs have released OF Corey Coles. Coles was batting 9-25 (.360) in 11 games since coming up from Double-A Tennessee.
