June 28th will be a historic and noisy occasion at Recreation Park, as the Visalia Oaks officially unveil their new Land O' Lakes Cowbell Section. This brand-new, one-of-a-kind area will consist of 32 seats located behind the visitors' dugout; each seat will still be only $8, and will come with a free cowbell. Starting this Saturday (which happens to be "Country Western Night"), the section (and the cowbells) will be available for each home game. The Oaks are proud to partner with Land O' Lakes, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in Tulare, by creating this unique and irresistibly fun fan area. Besides recognizing Land O' Lakes local support, the section also recognizes the greater local dairy industry's crucial role in the community. While the Cowbell Section will become a nightly feature at the ballpark, the Oaks have set aside August 2nd as "Dairy Day," when the first 1,000 fans will receive free cowbells, and the team will take the field in special Holstein Cow-Print jerseys...after their pre-game cow-milking contest, that is. Saturday, then, begins a new era at Recreation Park; from now on, cowbells and Visalia baseball will become synonymous. Bruce Dickenson would be proud. |
