The first game of the Texas League Championship Series was a scoreless duel Tuesday, at least until Hank Conger came up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Conger's double accounted for all the game's scoring, lifting the Arkansas Travelers to a 3-0 win over the visiting Frisco RoughRiders in the opener of their best-of-5 Finals.

Game 2 will be played Wednesday at Arkansas.

With the game scoreless in the eighth, the Travelers loaded the bases on two walks and a throwing error by third baseman John Whittleman. Conger drove all three runners home with a two-bagger to center field.

Barret Browning (1-0) allowed one hit in a scoreless inning in relief of starter Daniel Davidson to pick up the win. Davidson scattered five hits, fanning seven and walking three over seven frames.

Rafael Rodriguez tossed a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Julio Borbon had three hits for the RoughRiders.

Frisco starter Derek Holland (1-1) surrendered three unearned runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking two over 7 1/3 innings to take the loss.
