Oklahoma hands Sacramento first PCL Finals loss in 11-2 rout

Casey Benjamin, Chris Shelton and Max Ramirez homered as the Oklahoma RedHawks routed the Sacramento River Cats, 11-2, on Wednesday to even the best-of-5 Pacific Coast League Finals at one game apiece.

It marked Sacramento's first loss in 11 league Championship Series appearances.

Benjamin led the game off with a home run and scored three times, Shelton went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and Ramirez added a solo shot for Oklahoma.

Ryan Roberts went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. He has collected six hits in 10 at-bats in the series.

Steve Rowe (1-0) allowed three hits and struck out in two scoreless innings and RedHawks starter Derek Lee yielded two runs on five hits while striking out two and walking two over four innings.

River Cats starter Chris Gissell (1-1) gave up six runs on six hits and five walks with two strikeouts over four innings.

Chris Denorfia hit a solo homer and Carlos Gonzalez had two hits for Sacramento.
