As the team bus departed Tulsa Monday, heading for home, manager Darrren Bush gave his RockHounds a verbal pat on the back for a good road trip, one in which the team went 4-2. He told the guys to enjoy their day off (Tuesday), but to come back "ready to go" Wednesday. Apparently, his team was paying attention.

The RockHounds scored seven runs in the first inning Wednesday night, highlighted by Matt Spencer's first Double-A home run. Oh, by the way, that first "double-A dinger" came with the bases loaded. "Spence" crushed Matt Kniginyzky's 1-0 over the right field bullpen and on to the sidewalk that runs on the top of the grass berm. Translation: He belted the ball for a Grand Slam home run. Alex Valdez followed with a solo shot and the 'Hounds were off and running.

Each time Northwest Arkansas came back, the 'Hounds answered, with contributions top-to-bottom in the batting order.

Archie Gilbert reached base 5-of-6 times up ... Josh Horton & Chris Carter each reached in 4-of-6 trips to the dish ... Tommy Everidge areached 4-of-5 times and added three more RBI to his team-leading total, now at 48 (second in the league).

Everidge and Carter extended their hit sreaks to 11 and eight games, respectively, and Chris added two RBI, joining Tommy among the top four run producers in the Texas League (Carter now has 42 RBI).

The scoreboard provided additional good news: The RockHounds were the only team in the South Division to win, so their lead is now four games over Frisco & San Antonio and seven over Corpus Christi.

The RockHounds and San Antonio have 19 games remaining in the first half; Frisco and Corpus have 21.
