The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Tampa Bay Rays Minor League players, outfielder Franklin Alcala and pitcher Carlos Orasmo, have each received a 50-game suspension after both tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspensions of both Alcala and Orasmo are effective immediately.

Both players are members of Tampa Bay's Venezuelan Summer League team. Alcala was batting .086 while Orasmo was 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA in six games.
