The Yankees will play their next two scheduled games on Thursday, July 9 & Friday, July 10 against Lehigh Valley at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA, the IronPigs home venue. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m.
The two games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday vs. the Buffalo Bisons have been moved to Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse, New York. First pitch times for the two games in Syracuse will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday and at 12:00 PM on Sunday.
Any fan currently holding tickets to one of the four relocated games and still wishing to attend in Lehigh Valley or Syracuse, may redeem their seats at the Coca-Cola Park Box Office or Alliance Bank Stadium Box office for new reserved seats.
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees will be reaching out to season ticket holders, group leaders, suite holders, sponsors and single game ticket buyers in regard to the loss of games due to field drainage issues and the move of the scheduled Lehigh Valley and Syracuse home games. "We share the concerns of our fans and will make every effort to alleviate them," said SWB Yankees President Kristen Rose. Our number one goal is to provide unsurpassed customer service."
Over the past several days, the playing surface at PNC Field has been evaluated by numerous experts, including the head groundskeeper from the New York Yankees. Several steps have already been taken to help alleviate the current drainage issue including intense aeration, additional drainage installed and sod replacement. Over the next several days, additional efforts will be taken to further improve field conditions.
"We are going to continue our efforts and utilize all available options at our disposal to make short term solutions to the current issues affecting the field, said Kristen Rose. "We are taking this very seriously and ask that are fans remain patient during this difficult time."
