Adrian Nieto's RBI single in the top of the 12th inning broke a scoreless tie against the Twins and sent the Nationals to the Gulf Coast League championship series.

Daniel Rosenbaum and two relievers combined to hold the Gulf Coast League Twins scoreless for 12 innings while the Nationals' offense tried to break through against an equally tough Twins staff. Rosenbaum, a 22nd-round Draft pick last June, allowed just two hits over six innings and Wanel Vasquez and Ruben De La Rosa picked up where he left off. The three Nationals pitchers combined to strike out 11 Twins and walk just one.

The Nationals will now face the Marlins in a best-of-3 championship series starting Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The Marlins, who entered Tuesday's semifinal game with the best overall record in the league, scored all the runs they would need in the first inning.

Marcell Ozuna, who ranked second in the league with 39 RBIs, drove in the Marlins' first run with an RBI double to right field, and Terrence Dayleg came home on an RBI groundout by Wilfredo Gimenez to cap the Marlins' offense for the rest of the game.

The Yankees broke through against starter, and eventual game winner, Jared Eskew when Jhorge Liccien singled home Ramon Flores in the top of the fifth, but that's all the offense the Yankees would be able to muster.

The Marlins will now face the Nationals in a best-of-3 championship series starting Wednesday, Sept. 2.
