Former first-round pick Conor Gillaspie went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs on Wednesday as the San Jose Giants pulled away in a 12-3 rout of the Bakersfield Blaze to advance to the California League Championship Series. San Jose trailed, 3-1, in the decisive fifth game before exploding for 11 unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings to seal the North Division title. Gillaspie scored three times, while Brian Bocock delivered a two-run double and scored twice for the Giants. David Mixon allowed three runs on four hits with six strikeouts over six innings before David Quinowski (2-0) tossed a scoreless seventh to pick up his second postseason win. David Paisano doubled twice and scored a run and Matt Lawson contributed two hits, including an RBI single, for Bakersfield. The Giants, seeking their second title in three years, will face High Desert in the best-of-5 Finals. In other Cal League action:
