The Loons front office staff is preparing for its annual planning retreat scheduled for this Tuesday and Wednesday. The Loons staff retreat is an opportunity to review the 2009 season, find ways to improve in each department, and brainstorm for new ideas that can be implemented for the upcoming season.
The retreat is an important part of the promotional planning process as well, with ideas for many of the theme nights and season-long promotions being hatched over the two-day period.
Fans can put on their thinking caps and join the Loons in their planning for the first time ever. During the retreat, the Loons staff will ask for feedback, ideas and suggestions and give fans an opportunity to vote for promotional ideas by interacting on Lou E. Loon's Facebook page. To participate, fans are encouraged to log on to www.facebook.com, and search "Lou E. Loon" in the site's search toolbar. Fans can also become a friend of Lou E. Loon on Facebook, and receive important Loons updates, and inside information about the team, Lou E. Loon and Dow Diamond.
"Our staff members are excited to roll up their sleeves and start planning for the 2010 season," said Loons Assistant General Manager for Marketing and Promotions Chris Mundhenk. "We are continuously looking for new, exciting ideas, as well as ways to improve the overall fan experience at Dow Diamond. Enabling our fans to participate in the planning process for 2010 is a terrific opportunity to have a pulse on their wants and needs while giving our staff a huge advantage with new ideas from thousands of people."
Fans will also have an opportunity to post ideas and suggestions on Lou E. Loon's Facebook page throughout the off-season.
Ideas from previous planning retreats include Chemical Bank $1 Family Feast Nights, the Tigers' 1984 Championship Celebration presented by MidMichigan Health, and many theme nights, including Christmas in July, Turn Back the Clock Day and Halloween Night.
Ticket packages for the 2010 season are on sale now, and can be purchased in person at Dow Diamond or by phone at 989-837-BALL.
