FORT WAYNE, Ind. - MiLB.com's MiLBY Awards were kind to Fort Wayne in 2009. INF Cody Decker, a late-season addition to the TinCaps' roster, received a MiLBY as the Short-Season Hitter of the Year after an MVP season in the Arizona Rookie League.

Decker, 22, was drafted in June 2009 in the 22nd round out of UCLA. He hit .354 with a league-best 15 home runs and 63 RBIs in the Arizona League. Decker led the league in doubles, extra-base hits and slugging percentage. He also held the league's best fielding percentage for a first baseman. A late-August promotion brought him to Fort Wayne to finish the season.

Fort Wayne was connected to MiLBY Awards in three of the five categories awarded; the TinCaps were the overall Team of the Year and RHP Brad Brach received Class-A Reliever of the Year honors.

TinCaps 2010 ticket plans, group outings and picnics are on sale now. For more information, call (260) 482-6400.
