"The new San Jose Giants uniform reflects not only the name but now the colors of the parent organization," said Bobby Evans, San Francisco Giants Vice President of Baseball Operations. "We are proud that the San Jose front office is giving our players a chance to wear the black and orange!"
The new design is San Jose's sixth home uniform in the 23-year history of the team. The white jersey features set-in sleeves with orange and black trim around the neck and sleeves. An arched black lettering of "Giants" is centered on the front with orange outlines. Additionally, an "SJ" emblem in black letters with orange outlines is featured high on the left sleeve while the numbers on the back are in black with orange trim.
The new home uniform also includes white pants with a single black and orange pinstripe down each leg while the players will wear black stirrups. The uniform will be complemented by a black New Era cap featuring San Jose's traditional interlocking "SJ" logo in orange. The batting practice cap is black with the Giants "G" in orange. The popular white "SJ" cap will continue to be worn during road games.
"Our fans are going to enjoy this new and improved traditional look," said San Jose Giants Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Mark Wilson. "We feel these new uniforms give us a Giants image that our fans, players and organization can be proud of."
