Rocks And Socks For Haiti

The Midland RockHounds and the West Texas United Sockers are working with Minor League Baseball, the Red Cross and UNICEF to help raise awareness in West Texas and encourage donations to help victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

From now until the end of January, the RockHounds and Sockers will give a pair of ticket vouchers (good for any baseball or soccer game in 2010) to individuals who donate any dollar amount to the organizations 'Rocks and Socks For Haiti' fund. All donations made through the RockHounds and Sockers will go directly to UNICEF and the Red Cross for their efforts in aiding the victims of this horrible tragedy.

Many former and current players from the affected region have ties to West Texas from their playing and coaching days with the RockHounds organization. This tragedy not only affects that region, but the entire world.

Donations may be made by calling (432) 520-2255, by sending a check to the address below or by stopping at the RockHounds and Sockers offices. In return, patrons will be sent a pair of ticket vouchers to use for any game this summer.

In addition to directly donating to the Rocks and Socks Fund, we encourage individuals to visit the UNICEF 'Earthquake in Haiti' donation page (www.unicefusa.org) or text HAITI to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts that will be reflected with a charge to your phone bill. Simply bring in or send us a copy of your donation receipt from the website and you will be given a pair of ticket vouchers at that time.
