Captains Mascot "Skipper" to Play Cupid for Valentine's Day
Skipper has partnered with J.D. Ballantine's Flowers and Gifts in Mentor to deliver roses to the fans' sweethearts in celebration of Valentine's Day.

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, have made plans to make this Valentine's Day the best ever for fans in Northeast Ohio. Fans can have the Captains mascot, Skipper, deliver a special Valentine's Day package to their sweetheart. Skipper has partnered with J.D. Ballantine's Flowers and Gifts in Mentor to deliver roses to the fans' sweethearts in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Fans that purchase the package will have Skipper deliver a box of long-stem roses to their sweetheart at their residence or workplace. The roses can also have a personalized message included on a card. In addition to the roses, a voucher for two box seat tickets to any 2010 Captains home game and a special Captains logo chocolate treat will also be delivered to the loved one.

The cost of the package is only $80 and orders will be taken until February 8 and are limited to the first 32 orders placed. Orders will be delivered between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Friday, February 12. Deliveries will be available to recipients within a 25-mile radius of Classic Park. Fans can reserve their package on-line at CaptainsBaseball.com or by calling Jen Yorko at the Captains office at 440-975-8085 ext 116.

J.D. Ballantine's Flower and Gifts are located at 8324 Mentor Avenue in Mentor. J.D. Ballantine's is family owned and operated since 1987 and specializes in both European and contemporary floral designs. The florist also features a large selection of balloon bouquets, plush animals, green and blooming plant baskets, as well as gourmet, fruit and cheese baskets. Wine or Beers of the World are also available.

Discounted full season tickets plans, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2010 season are on sale now and information can be found at the Captains website www.CaptainsBaseball.com.

The Captains will join the Midwest League in 2010 and will open the season at Classic Park on Thursday April 8 at 6:30 pm versus the West Michigan Whitecaps, the class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
