ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-- Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner issued the following statement regarding the passing last night of Bobby Bragan, who served as the seventh MiLB President from 1976-78:

"Bobby Bragan had a long and distinguished career in baseball. He served our game in multiple capacities, including as Minor League Baseball President from 1976-78. Bobby was one of the more colorful characters in baseball and he will be sorely missed.

"Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Bragan family, especially Peter Sr., Mary Frances and Peter Jr. who own and operate the Jacksonville Suns."
