The New Orleans Zephyrs will be hosting a coaches clinic for all Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation baseball and softball coaches from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 10th.
The clinic is free and open exclusively to coaches and parents. Children will not be permitted to participate in the clinic.
Heading up the three-hour clinic will be Zephyrs manager Edwin Rodriguez, who is returning for his second season as the Z's skipper and his 10th season overall as a minor league manager. Rodriguez spent parts of three seasons at the major league level as a player with the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres.
Also participating will be Zephyrs pitching coach Scott Mitchell, and hitting coach Greg Norton. Mitchell is entering his second seasonin New Orleans, and his ninth season as a coach in the Florida Marlins system. Norton is making his coaching debut, following his retirement from the Atlanta Braves after the 2009 season.
In addition to tips and instruction from the Zephyrs coaching staff, the clinic will include lunch.
