TROY, N.Y. – The Tri-City ValleyCats Media Bobblehead Bracket Buster Tournament has reached its final four participants. Over 10,000 votes were cast in the past week, almost doubling the total votes from round one.
WTEN's Lydia Kulbida continued her dominance over the rest of the field receiving 65.8% of the total votes in defeating YNN's Joe Calderone 6,674 to 3,465.
Kulbida will face FOX23's John Gray who defeated Fly92.3's Brian Cody 5,309 to 4,830. This epic final four match-up will feature two of the longest tenured members of the Capital Region television news media.
Although not to be dismissed among that group is CBS 6's Liz Bishop, who defeated FOX23's Rich Becker 5,487 to 4,652, ending the run of sportscasters from the tournament.
Bishop will face Kristi Gustafson of The Albany Times Union, who narrowly defeated WNYT's Benita Zahn 5,166 to 4,973. Gustafson's 193 vote victory was the closest decided race thus far.
Each member of the final four will receive a cash donation to the charity they have chosen to represent. The list of charities can be found at www.bobblevote.com.
Final four voting will last until midnight on Sunday April 4th.
