CHARLESTON, SC- "Be Your Own Fan" of Charleston RiverDogs baseball has expanded to running as the club will host the 7th Annual Run, Forrest, Run 5K Race on Saturday, May 1 presented by Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Coburg Dairy and T-Mobile. The race begins at 5 pm at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park prior to the RiverDogs' home game against the Hickory Crawdads.

"The race is fun for all ages and caters to every type of participant," said RiverDogs Special Events Director Melissa McCants.  "Our 5K race begins in front of The Joe and finishes at home plate where runners are greeted by the RiverDogs players."

Early registration ends Friday, April 23 and  is $25, which includes a race t-shirt, one ticket to that evening's RiverDogs game, in-game awards ceremony and a post-race party with dinner provided by Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.  Bubba Gump Shrimp Company's very own Forrest Gump will be on hand to start the rain-or-shine race and mingle with runners throughout the evening.

Late and on-site registration is $30, and t-shirts are available while supplies last.
