Burlington, IA (April 30, 2010) - In conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, the Burlington Bees have announced a series of transactions that will give the bullpen a new look.

Righty Harold Mozingo has been promoted to Wilmington, and Sam Runion, a Bee in each of the last three seasons, will report to extended spring training after being transferred to the Idaho Falls roster. Mozingo was 1-0 with a 6.23 ERA in six relief appearances with the Bees. The Virginia native struck out 11, walked five, and allowed nine hits in eight and two-thirds innings. Mozingo spent time with the Bees in 2007 before missing virtually all of the last two seasons due to injury.

Runion, who led the Midwest League in games started a year ago, worked exclusively out of the bullpen this year, posting a 13.06 ERA in 10 1/3 innings over seven appearances. Runion allowed 23 hits, seven walks, and struck out eight.

Joining the club will be Rodolfo Encarnacion, a 2010 free agent signee of the Royals.

Before joining the Royals this spring, Encarnacion was a member of the Florida Marlins organization, posting a 3.13 ERA in 82 appearances over three seasons. The righty struck out 136 in 115.0 innings with 73 walks and 93 hits allowed. Encarnacion was lights-out as a member of the Low-A Greensboro bullpen last year, striking out 51 in 34 2/3 innings with a 1.04 ERA in 19 appearances.

The Bees roster now stands at 23, two below the Midwest League maximum.
