MiLB is operating the former home of the Durham Bulls, which was made famous by the 1988 movie "Bull Durham." The governing body for the sport is currently using the DAP as a training center for business and facility operations in the baseball industry.
The Longball Program, a MiLB pilot initiative that aims to go beyond the scope of the baseball diamond by requiring participants have to attend mandatory weekly skills sessions, is also held at the DAP.
In addition to serving as the home field for North Carolina Central University, Durham American Legion Post 7 and amateur baseball tournaments, the DAP also hosts Durham city events, including concerts and festivals.
