Greenwood, 22, was the Padres' 14th-round pick in last year's draft out of the University of Rhode Island. He posted the best ERA in the Northwest League (1.71) before joining the TinCaps for last year's Midwest League championship run. He returned to the TinCaps as the opening night starter this year. Greenwood went 4-4 with a 4.15 ERA for the TinCaps in 2010. He was assigned late Saturday to the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League.
Kluber, 24, pitched for Fort Wayne in 2008, going 4-3 with a 3.21 ERA in ten starts. This year with Double-A San Antonio, he went 6-6 with a 3.45 ERA.
Cleveland RHP Jake Westbrook was the final piece of the trade, moving to the Cardinals. The deal means three Fort Wayne alums have been involved in trades in the past week.
The TinCaps open a seven-game road swing tonight against the Great Lakes Loons (Class-A Los Angeles Dodgers) at Dow Diamond at 7:05 p.m. The Loons saw RHP Brett Wallach traded to the Cubs today in the deal which sent LHP Ted Lilly and INF Ryan Theriot to the Dodgers.
