Pawtucket didn't score a run until the ninth inning on Monday, and it wasn't enough to beat Scranton in Moosic, Pa. In the bottom of the ninth, Jesus Montero hammered a homer off Robert Manuel for a 2-1 Scranton victory. Starters Kei Igawa and Rich Hill were sensational. Igawa worked 5.2 innings, scattering 6 hits and 0 runs, with 7 strikeouts. Hill, making his first-ever PawSox start gave up 2 hits in 5 scoreless innings. Hill fanned 6 and walked just one. Chad Paronto followed Hill and tossed 2 shutout innings and Robert Manuel took the loss.
For the Sox, Yamaico Navarro doubled and came around on a single by Jack Hannahan. Bubba Bell, in his second game back from the disabled list went 3-4 with a pair of doubles. Carlos Dlegado went 0-3 in his first game action since May of 2009. In his first at bat, Delgado who has 473 career Major League homers, hit a deep fly ball to deep right-center and was robbed of a homerun by Greg Golson.
The Yankees have dropped the PawSox in 4 straight. The series continues on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Fabio Castro (5-7, 4.99) faces Alfredo Aceves (0-0, 0.00).
