Stars Nominated for Top Promotional Award
"Car Survivor" Earns Nod in Miscellaneous Category
10/01/2010 3:22 PM ET
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The concept was simple: five people sat in the 2004 Honda Accord parked outside Joe Davis Stadium. The last one remaining won the car. It was the summer circus known as "Car Survivor", presented by Jerry Damson Honda Acura. Now, it has been nominated for one of the top promotions in 2010 by MiLB.com, the official site of Minor League Baseball.

"Our strategy is to make businesses shine and help them meet their marketing goals. Gaining national recognition for a baseball promotion that wasn't even baseball related helped Jerry Damson Honda Acura get the attention they wanted and showed that our strategies work," Stars General Manager Buck Rogers commented.

The Stars have been nominated in the "Miscellaneous" category against seven other teams, including two Southern League opponents. The Mobile BayBears were nominated for their "Opening of Hank Aaron Childhood Home and Museum" and the Birmingham Barons got a nod for the "Rickwood Classic/100th Anniversary of Rickwood Field." The other worthy opponents include the Daytona Cubs, Frederick Keys, Omaha Royals, San Antonio Missions and Savannah Sand Gnats.

Fans can vote online for the Stars' "Car Survivor" and their other favorite Minor League promotion of the year now through Wednesday, October 6 at 9 a.m. by clicking HERE.
