PONCE, Puerto Rico -- The USA Baseball Pan American Qualifying Team shut out Aruba, 14-0, on Sunday night in a seven-inning affair shortened by the international 10-run rule.

The U.S. improved to 2-0 in pool play action and will face Colombia (1-2) on Monday at 1 p.m. EDT at Roberto Clemente Stadium in Carolina.

Royals prospect Everett Teaford (1-0) was unhittable after allowing a single to the first batter of the game. He did not issue a walk and struck out 10 over five innings. Bryan Henry (Diamondbacks), Anthony Carter (White Sox) and Nick Hill (Mariners) slammed the door, combining for three strikeouts over the final two frames.

Team USA, currently second in the International Baseball Federation world rankings, was held in check by 53rd-ranked Aruba until the third inning. Marlins farmhand Brian Barden hit a two-run homer to left field to score Jamie Hoffmann (Dodgers) and, three batters later, Texas League MVP Mike Moustakas (Royals) lined a solo shot to right-center.

An inning later, Barden logged his third RBI of the night when he drove home Jordan Pacheco (Rockies) with a fielder's choice to make it 4-0. It wasn't until the fifth that the U.S. started pulling away.

The six-run inning was highlighted by consecutive run-scoring singles from Brett Jackson (Cubs), Cord Phelps (Indians) and Moustakas.

Team USA added four runs in the sixth, highlighted by RBI singles from Barden and Jackson. Leading, 14-0, Carter and Hill silenced Aruba to secure the 10-run rule victory.

Barden and Hoffmann -- who were not in the lineup for Saturday's 7-4 win over Puerto Rico -- combined to go 5-for-7 with six runs scored and four RBIs. Jackson continued his torrid start for Team USA, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Gerwin Thiel (0-1) suffered the loss, while Christian Diaz logged the lone hit for Aruba.

OLYMPIC BLAST: SS Brian Barden crushed a two-run homer to right-center in the third inning to put Team USA up, 2-0. He went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. This is Barden's second stint with Team USA. In 2008, he was a member of the Olympic squad that won bronze in Beijing. In eight games at the Olympics, he batted .265 with a homer and five RBIs.

COACHES CORNER: Former Major Leaguer Jay Bell begins his first stint as first-base coach for Team USA. A two-time All-Star, he played 18 seasons in the Majors, totaling 1,963 hits for five teams. He reached the postseason five times and scored the winning run in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bell won the Rawlings Gold Glove award in 1993 as a shortstop with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

DOCTOR K: Team USA starter Everett Teaford (Royals) surrendered a single to Aruba's leadoff batter, then pitched five perfect innings, striking out 10 of the 15 batters he faced.

GOOD EYE: U.S. first baseman Eric Hosmer (Royals) has walked six times in nine plate appearances over the first two games. He walked 59 times in 579 plate appearances in the Minor Leagues this season.

GOOD GENES: Team USA reliever Bryan Henry (Diamondbacks) came on in the sixth and retired the side in order, striking out two. His grandfather, Larry Callaway, is a member of the Senior Softball Hall of Fame and holds 35 national softball titles.

WELL-TRAVELED: Team USA OF Jamie Hoffmann (Dodgers) went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. He was selected by the Yankees in the 2009 Rule 5 Draft and sent back to Los Angeles after Spring Training.
