By now you've probably heard about the big announcement from the City of South Bend regarding renovations to Coveleski Stadium. We're excited about the changes, and wanted to let you know what this means to you -- our fans.
Did you realize that summer 2011 will be the 25th summer of activities at Coveleski Stadium? The stadium opened in 1987 for community events, with the South Bend White Sox beginning play a year later in 1988. Over that time, over 5 million fans have made their way into the Cove for games, concerts, and other events.
Of course, times change and so do the demands of a ballpark. With these renovations, the existing appeal of Coveleski Stadium will be transformed into a modernized entertainment destination for the residents of Michiana. Every aspect of the renovations will serve to improve your experience and fun at our ballpark and in downtown South Bend.
Stadium Improvements Include::
- State-of-the-Art Scoreboard with instant reply
- Renovated Upper Deck Catering Facility and Suites
- Artificial playing surface which will allow pre-game catches on the field and lots of other non-baseball game activities
- New Center Field Entry Way that will effectively connect the ballpark with downtown
- Much, much, more
